When you're struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety, or depression, the idea of opening up and trusting another person can be HARD. I know that you've likely heard so many messages throughout your life about what you should do and who you should be, but I don't think that "shoulds" have a place in therapy. Who do you WANT to be? How do you WANT to feel? That is way more important than any shoulds, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you start to find answers to these questions over time. Together, we can unravel those expectations - what you've been told it means to be healthy or successful or fill in the blank - and get to the heart of what really matters to you and what you need. Being a human is messy, and as your therapist, I'll be right there in that space with you as a human first, therapist second. Let's explore what it means to be humans in a world that expects perfection (which doesn't exist!) and pushes you to grind until you're too burned out to do the things you actually want to do. Whether you realize it today or not, you deserve peace. I have many tools in my toolbox to support you, but to me the most important thing I can do is to provide you a safe space to explore your experience in its entirety at your own pace - to build a connection that is strong enough for you to know that I won't judge you or make you bad or wrong for how you are feeling or for using certain behaviors to cope. It's what you've known to do up to this point, so let's put our heads together and find the ways that this has made sense so we can look at it from a place of compassion instead of judgment. This is a shame-free space! I hold a special place in my heart for those who are working towards eating disorder recovery who feel like they aren't sick enough because their body size, race, sexuality, or gender identity don't match what they are seeing on social media under the eating disorder hashtags. All identities are welcome here, and no matter what your circumstances, your concerns are valid, you ARE sick enough, and you deserve compassionate, equitable care. If anything I've said here makes you think "I like her vibe," please don't hesitate to reach out. I would love to chat further about what it would look like for us to work together.

With individual and group counseling clients are guided through these theories. The goal is to assist the client in making changes to the way persons think so that they can change. Counseling is a joint effort, which cannot be successful without client’s hard work, energy and courage. There are many reasons people seek counseling, regardless of the reasons, she believes an enhanced sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations (this includes understanding how past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves.

I know what it's like to be a college student and struggling with your mental health. It's a difficult and isolating experience. Finding healing in my clinical depression and anxiety was ultimately what led me to become a therapist, to help others like you going through it, too. When we talk about your thoughts and emotions, I know what you're going through and that pain you're experiencing. I also know the power of having a Christian counselor walk alongside you when your Christian faith is important to you. As a believer and therapist, I want to offer you both--a place where Jesus + therapy can co-exist. I offer Christian counseling to young women struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and cross-cultural adjustment. I integrate clinical techniques along with Scripture and prayer, if you desire, as you work towards healing, renewal and hope! Send me an email today. Let's get started!

Jackie Quartuccio, LCSWA is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina. She graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Before receiving her graduate degree, Jackie spent time working for a non-profit alongside single mothers seeking family preservation services and studying psychology for her undergraduate degree. Jackie believes so passionately that counseling can be a helpful and healing process for those who seek such help. When Jackie was a teenager, she sought counseling herself and was able to identify her feelings and process them in a healthy way. This positive therapeutic experience drove her decision to go into the counseling field and sparked her passion to help those who find themselves in with similar negative thought patterns. She will work with you and/or your family to create a counseling plan focused on decreasing symptoms and improving quality of life. Does life feel overwhelming in a way that’s hard to explain? Maybe your brain never slows down, or focusing feels impossible. Maybe you feel deeply but struggle to put it into words. Or maybe you've spent so much time adapting to what others expect that you aren’t sure who you really are. If you've always felt a little different—like the world wasn’t built with you in mind—you’re not alone. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, identity questions, or body image struggles, you deserve a space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself. My approach is affirming, collaborative, and tailored to you. We’ll move at your pace, exploring strategies to help you feel more in control, more connected, and more at home in yourself. I blend person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and polyvagal approaches with mindfulness, breathwork, and practical tools to support focus, emotions, relationships, and self-trust. Rooted in social justice, I understand the challenges of feeling different or navigating societal pressures around identity and body image. Here, you’re free to explore and heal.
College can feel like constant pressure — perform well, make the right choices, keep it together, don’t fall behind. I work especially well with high-achieving students who look like they have it handled on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck internally. Whether it’s performance anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship stress, or just feeling like you’re never doing “enough,” we’ll work together in a structured, practical way. I use evidence-based tools (primarily CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and habits are connected — and to build skills you can actually use between sessions. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can be real, feel understood, and leave with strategies that help you move forward with more confidence and clarity. I offer virtual therapy and accept multiple major insurance plans. Book directly through my scheduling link at the bottom of this page to verify insurance and availability.

Hi! My name is Karin and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I work with many different presenting concerns and help students tackle any difficulties that come up in their everyday life. In working together, my intention is and will always be to foster an environment that is filled with safety and trust, as well as void of judgment. Being vulnerable can be very difficult on its own, and it’s essential to me to create a space where vulnerability does not come with any more obstacles or barriers. I understand how hard it can be to talk about our problems and the issues we struggle with on a daily basis, and it’s important to me to create an environment where it is easier to talk about what’s going on. I deeply enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds and cultures and having the privilege to provide support along the way. I would love to meet you. Please reach out.
