My ideal clients are queer, neurodivergent folks with a history of trauma. They may struggle with self-acceptance, navigating relationships, or managing emotional overwhelm. Their needs include validation, trauma-informed care, coping strategies, and support in embracing their unique identities. Their goals are healing, reclaiming their power, and building a sense of community. They want to feel empowered, seen, and safe—so they can live authentically, cultivate self-trust, and thrive despite the challenges they face in a world that often marginalizes them. I specialize in EMDR, somatic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients process trauma, regulate emotions, and heal from past wounds. Using these modalities, I guide clients in reconnecting with their bodies, integrating fragmented parts of themselves, and fostering self-compassion to create lasting emotional transformation. I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate trauma, identity, and emotional struggles on your own. You deserve a space where you’re seen, heard, and supported. Together, we can explore healing through trauma-informed techniques like EMDR, somatic work, and IFS. You don’t have to do this alone—I'm here to support you when you're ready.
I have an extensive background guiding youth and young adults toward greater health and fulfillment. Every day I look forward to helping individuals experiencing PTSD, trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, life transitions, social struggles, family conflict, and ADHD reach their full potential for success. I strongly believe that therapy can be a meaningful and transformative space for individuals of all ages to identify patterns and struggles in order to make effective changes. I believe in co-creating a safe, collaborative space for clients to process emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Let's take this journey together.
All of our therapists at Chicago Counseling Center specialize in helping people learn how to manage symptoms related to Anxiety, OCD, Perfectionism, and general life stressors so that they can live meaningful, fulfilling, and enjoyable lives.

I am a firm believer that making the decision to address your issues takes a great deal of courage and bravery. Many of us come from circumstances or environments that encourage us to push through pain by burying it, outworking it, or avoiding it. While these coping skills help us to survive, they don't necessarily encourage us to thrive. As a therapist with psychodynamic training and extensive life coaching experience, it is important to me that our sessions focus on identifying where core issues are coming from, encourage collaborative problem solving, as well as create space for intentional goal setting. I have a great deal of experience helping young adults and professionals with life transitions. Building an authentic sense of self is the first step to cultivating a sense of purpose, empathetic relationships, and healthy boundaries. I approach therapy from a multi-modal lense and take great care to address and honor differences in lived experiences. If anything above resonates please contact me! Being a first-generation Arab American myself, I know how difficult it can be to move past the stigma of pursuing mental health services. That being said, I also know that the most difficult things in life also tend to be the most rewarding. You should be proud of yourself for taking this first step!

I’ve always been captivated by love, connection, and the strength people show through life’s toughest moments. Being transracially adopted is a meaningful part of my identity—it’s given me a deep appreciation for the complex, beautiful ways people form relationships and a strong commitment to honoring diversity, neurodiversity, and inclusion. As your therapist, I offer a calming, collaborative, and nonjudgmental presence. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or life transitions, I want therapy to be a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported to explore your story. I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and connected—and that real growth happens when we slow down, reflect together, and make space for what truly matters to you. I work with individuals and couples of all backgrounds, and I’m especially passionate about helping people feel empowered in their relationships—with themselves and others. I’m currently earning my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University. As I grow in the field, I find myself drawn to Narrative, Emotionally Focused, and Collaborative therapies—approaches that center your lived experience and emphasize meaningful connection, healing, and change. I attend supervision with Mia Dal Santo, LMFT. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. Therapy is a place to begin, and I’m here to walk with you as you move toward clarity, connection, and a life that feels more authentically yours!

It takes great courage to live out our authentic selves, find wisdom underneath our emotions, and repair and transform relationships that are close to our heart. I admire your strength and humanity that takes you here. I am a psychologist, researcher, professor, and organizational consultant and provide individual, couple's, and family psychotherapy. As an immigrant, I witness life and culture in its nuances and complexities. I believe (and research shows) that, built upon a safe and trusting relationship, therapy can effectively support people to find clarity, authenticity, and resolution through the richness of our life journeys. Grounded in humanistic and feminist lenses, I support clients to process emotions, identify relationship patterns, and find one's agency within familial and sociopolitical systems, while integrating psychodynamic, CBT, and mind-body techniques. I also specialize in emotionally-focused couple's and family therapy. My clients experience me as warm, affirming, and collaborative. I am always humbled by those who commit to therapy and sit in front of me, because they have completed the hardest part of the journey on their own so that the journey of healing and growth could begin. I wish you well in your journey. I hope to have an opportunity to assist and support you.

I earned my master’s degree in social work, with a concentration in mental health, from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at UIC in 2017. Since then, I have worked in multiple settings, including residential treatment, schools, and traditional clinical placements. I have a passion for doing this work and absolutely love my job. I have worked primarily with adolescents and families from diverse backgrounds, and I am excited to work with clients from all walks of life, whether they are on specific journeys of growth and healing, or just trying to figure some things out. I believe that everyone already has within them the inner strength and talents they need to create the life they want. Sometimes, we just need some help recognizing or tapping into our gifts. I’m a firm believer in the strengths-based approach, along with cognitive behavioral and reality therapy, and work from a combination of these perspectives. This means that in essence, I believe that learning the how and why behind the choices we have made in the past, is the most important part of learning how to choose wisely in the future. My goal is to create a safe place where we can talk openly about those choices without judgment, process the consequences both good and bad, and progress towards making different choices leading to different outcomes.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, behavioral challenges, depression, addiction, grief & loss, and trauma. I also help those who are struggling with transitional changes, relationship stressors and identity challenges. Additionally, I help couples' work through conflict and improve communication in their relationship.
My approach to therapy is individualized, attentive, direct, and flexible. Guided by Lacanian psychoanalysis and grounded in social justice, I offer patients a space to speak freely about their suffering, history, questions, wishes, fantasies, and desires. I listen carefully for the unconscious in their patients’ speech, focusing on the unique complexity of each patient. Speaking, listening, and being heard in this way opens up new possibilities for ways of relating to oneself and others. This approach works for a wide variety of concerns, including those that are difficult to put into words. I offer individual art and talk therapy to patients of all ages who are willing to speak about their suffering and learn new things about themselves. I also provides couples and relationship counseling to partners, exes, and roommates. I reserve a number of appointments each week for sliding scale patients. Please reach out if a reduced fee would allow you to access my services.
