For many of us, the hardest challenge to overcome is to ask for help. If you're reading this, you've already found the courage to start becoming the best version of yourself. While as an individual you are unique, none of us are perfect and we all experience conflict, hardships, and a variety of emotions. I believe our life experiences as well as cultural background influence the way in which we interact with the world. I am a strong proponent of collaboration and I view the therapeutic relationship as a team. I have daytime availability Monday through Thursday. If you feel overwhelmed with all of the changes in your life and in the world around you, or conversely feel numb and detached, let's talk. I practice with a variety of clients, however I specialize in teens and adults experiencing the effects of life changes and transitions, codependency, relationship issues, and managing work/life balance. I have a gentle approach to building relationships combined with down to earth 'real talk' about what can help you feel better. I often incorporate mindfulness techniques into our work together, and am someone who's open to feedback and learning about your unique perspective on the world.
Hello! Our clinic specializes in eating disorders (EDs), PTSD, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety, depression, and emotion dysregulation. We use treatments that have proven efficacy whenever possible and are committed to staying abreast of the latest research in the field. Our director, Dr. Julie Trim, served as Director of the UCSD Adult Eating Disorders program for 11+ years and is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UCSD. Dr. Trim has directly supervised countless psychology trainees, publishes in scientific journals, gives presentations and trainings, and holds leadership positions in professional organizations. We have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and are proud to provide adherent individual DBT, DBT skills groups, and phone coaching. We also provide evidence-based ED treatment, and offer meal support at Gravity Heights (an award-winning restaurant next to our office) for clients who need nutritional support or help with food exposures. While we all try to savor the goodness in life, it's not always easy. There are so many stressors that we face in today's world, so many competing demands. Things that you used to do easily may now be hard, or things others do easily may feel impossible. Whether it's a long-standing problem or a bump in the road, getting professional help can be life-changing.
I work with folks navigating various life and identity-related stressors, significant life changes, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Being in school comes with its own unique challenges, while daily personal and global issues are still showing up and impacting us. I've worked with folks from many walks of life, and have extensive experience supporting people in the LGBTQIA2S+ community. My modalities encompass various forms of talk therapy, as well as somatic therapy, ecotherapy, and Brainspotting.
We offer ADHD assessments designed for college students. Our evaluations are clear, efficient, and built to give you what you need: documentation for school or work, clarity for a provider, or just a solid understanding of your brain. No overkill. No filler. Just a real answer to a real question. You may have taken the quizzes, skimmed the clickbait articles, maybe even had a therapist say, "Hmm, have you ever wondered if it's ADHD?" You want answers—but not just any answers. You want clarity you can use: for work, school, medication, or just understanding why life feels harder than it should. Maybe you've always called it ADD-and yes, that's still real. The name changed to ADHD (inattentive type), but the experience is the same. You don't need a $5,000, 45-page-long unreadable report. But a simple screening test isn’t going to be helpful, either, as that is not diagnostic. You need an evaluation and report that are actually helpful. That's exactly what we do—comprehensive evals that give you exactly what you need.

Hella Good Therapy is a California-based Telehealth psychotherapy practice focused on queering and decolonizing the therapeutic process. Pain can quietly shape your life and sense of self, even when things look “fine” from the outside. It may show up as anxiety, depression, grief, anger, low self-esteem, substance use, or painful relationship patterns. You might notice yourself longing for closeness while also pulling away, or repeating dynamics you don’t fully understand. You may be navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, or longstanding attachment patterns that continue to surface in the present. Even when you can make sense of your experiences, something may still feel unresolved or unmoved. Together, we take time to know you and to understand how you experience yourself and others—how you relate, protect, and respond to closeness and emotion. We also pay attention to patterns as they emerge in your life and in therapy. My style is warm, collaborative, and relational. Our work supports greater awareness and a sense of safety, gradually loosening what has felt fixed so new possibilities can emerge. You’re welcome to reach out for a complimentary consultation. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for college students. Please reach out for more info.
